A visit from "The Spinning Lady"

Room 9 children have been interested in learning more about sheep farming and wool production as part of our "Kiwi as" study.

On Tuesday we were very lucky to have a visit from Mrs. Evanswalsh. She showed us how to spin wool.

Thank you very much for coming to Room 9 Mrs Evanswalsh!

Here are some of the stories we wrote about the visit.

I am looking at the spinning. Mrs Nimmo had a turn. She was amazing. Milan
We learnt that wool comes off sheep. We also learnt that you spin it. It is a niddy-noddy that winds up the wool.  Ella
I saw Mrs Evanswalsh when she spun the wool and we learnt how to spin.  Katiana
I watched the lady spin the wool. She did it all by herself.  George
Mrs. Evanswalsh brought the spinning wheel. She can spin wool and she had a lady with her.  Logan
I watched Mrs Evanswalsh spin the wool and it was amazing.  Latoya
Mrs Evanswalsh spun the wool. I liked her spinning the wool, she was good at it and Mrs Nimmo tried spinning wool. It was interesting.  Liliana
Mrs Evanswalsh wanted to show us and now I know how to spin wool.  Jack
